Fine Arts Center College Day
Sept. 28, 2012
The Fine Arts Center's biennial College Day is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 28, 2012. College Day is an excellent opportunity for students to learn more about general college admissions requirements and college programs available in their arts disciplines.
This year we have invited representatives from more than 100 colleges and universities, and we are expecting more than 70 representatives to attend our program. All participants will have an opportunity to ask questions concerning their interests in arts education and careers during two sessions on Sept. 28. The morning session will begin at 9:15 a.m., and the afternoon session will begin at 1:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to accompany students whenever possible.
Please mark your calendars for College Day on Sept. 28, 2012, and plan to participate in this program.

Visual Arts Portfolio Day
Nov. 19, 2012
The Visual Arts Department will welcome representatives from seven colleges of art and design for the fifth annual daylong Portfolio Day. The representatives will present information about their schools in 45-minute presentations, have lunch mingling with students and faculty, and spend the remainder of their time reviewing student portfolios. The goal of the event is for students to learn about what different schools have to offer and what it takes to be competitive for admission and scholarships. It also gives the representatives time to learn about our amazing students. Students in the past have been accepted to schools on the spot, based on their strong portfolios.
Underclassmen will have the option of attending for their regular half-day, while upperclassmen are encouraged to attend for the whole day. Parents are also invited to attend.
